Assaults Against U.S. Border Patrol Agents Tucson Sector



Two people in Agua Prieta threw several large rocks at a Border Patrol vehicle while it was on patrol near the border fence in Douglas. The vehicle's windshield was broken, while the agent was unharmed.

A Nogales Border Patrol agent was dragged by the vehicle of a person who was attempting to flee the Interstate 19 checkpoint Thursday after being referred to a secondary inspection. Two suspects were arrested and will be prosecuted for assault against a federal agent. No one was injured.

A Sunizona resident threw a rock at a Willcox agent’s vehicle Thursday as he drove past the person's home. The resident also made verbal threats against the agent. Cochise County Sheriff’s deputies responded to assist. The resident was held for prosecution. The agent was not injured.
