TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A Phoenix woman has been sentenced to almost six years in prison for trafficking marijuana.

Prosecutors say 33-year-old Cynthia Irene Granados was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. District Court in Tucson to a 71-month prison term.

Granados pleaded guilty in September to conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute marijuana.
U.S. Border Patrol agents attempted to pull over Granados’ vehicle in southern Arizona near San Simon on Oct. 28, 2010. They say Granados failed to yield and led agents on a high-speed chase down a dirt road.

After Granados ran into a dead end, she fled the area on foot. Agents were able to apprehend her and search the vehicle, which contained three burlap backpacks filled with 96 kilograms of marijuana.
